Oil on canvas portrait of young woman, attributed to Antonio Mancini (Italian, 1852-1930). Appears that it could have been part of a larger painting, cut down and restretched. Paint all the way to very edge of canvas, which is nailed to stretcher. Signature "A. Mancini" transcribed to the new stretcher (likely as not by the framer, as opposed to the artist himself) -- many of Mancini's works were signed thus. Painting measures 16-1/8" x 13" in 25-1/4" x 22" frame. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. We maintain a list of reliable shippers, or you may choose your own.

Craquelure throughout, possibly exacerbated from rolling (some horizontal hairlines, most visible across breast). A single fleck of paint loss in hair. See images for detail.
