Description
Circa 1870, Congolese slaver spear, approx. 55-1/2" long. Heavy raised medal and long bolster with base indents in the Zulu taste. Opened conical socket and matching iron base piece with sharply angled spear point. The haft is beautifully carved with a swelled medial and deep incised spiral motif. Iron trade band wrap on each side of the swell and the balance of the haft, carved in elongated diamond texture. Fagan Arms COA included. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. We maintain a list of reliable shippers, or you may choose your own.
Condition
Iron with dark patina of old stable surface oxidation. Haft has rich age patina and some encrustation. The swell has a single hole to the middle from a large insect. See images for more details on condition.
