Rare original Type I black and white 8x10 photograph of JFK by Jacques Lowe, his personal photographer. Ink notation in lower margin, "Pls return to Pierre Zollinger [sic], Room 505, Esso Bldg, Washington DC." Room 505 was Kennedy's press office during his years as senator and during his presidential run. Photo shows JFK on campus of Mills College, California, in October 1959. The photo was loaned for publication, and a note on back iterates that the photo be returned to "Pierre Zollinger," which doubtless meant Pierre Salinger. Provenance: From an unidentified member of Kennedy's senatorial press office staff. Part of a large collection of mostly unpublished photos of JFK, many of which are in today's auction.
