Description
Nice piece of political history: An authentic, original doodle by then-senator Lyndon Baines Johnson, on United States Senate stationery. Like his predecessor, John F. Kennedy, LBJ was well-known as a doodler. This page has an interesting sketch of what appears to be a structure of some sort, if not just a series of shapes. Most notably, though, is the large, conjoined "LBJ" he's drawn (perhaps as a design for a cattle brand for his ranch). Evidently Johnson's ego prompted him frequently to sketch his own initials, but this example is perhaps the largest there is, at more than 5" high. Paper measures about 10-1/2" x 8". Unconditionally guaranteed to be authentic. Provenance: From the personal political papers of Congressman Michael J. Kirwan, personal friend of JFK's. Authentication further confirmed by Evelyn Lincoln, JFK's late secretary. Letter of authenticity written and signed by presidential historian, John Burke Jovich. This item can be shipped in-house.
