After Alexander Calder (American, 1898-1976), an Aubusson weaving titled "La Tache Bleue" (or "the blue blob"), from The Bicentennial Tapestries. Monogrammed by artist verso in ink on label. Numbered 35 (from a series of 200). Measures about 40" X 58". Provenance & note: From a Florida Modern art collection amassed beginning in the 1950s in Michigan. All proceeds from the sale of this item will go to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wis. Many of the important art pieces in the sale are from this same lifetime collection. This item can be shipped in-house.
Condition
Very fine condition, with no apparent issues. A few small spots. Colors vibrant. No fraying or holes.
