Description
1871 New South Wales Australian military / police government contract rifle. This Alexander Henry rifle was manufactured by the Westly-Richards Arms & Ammunition Company. Action marked right side W.RA & ACo over 1871 and left side HENRY'S PATENT. Barrel stamped HENRY'S PATENT RIFLING. Dropping or falling block design, hammer and a back-action lock are fitted on the LEFT side of the rifle. Single shot, 557/.450 caliber. Barrel measures approx. 20", overall 37". Right side of rear stock is stamped "N.S.W." over "L 28-". This item can be shipped in-house.
Condition
Rifle has age appropriate wear with an overall brown patina to the finish. Some oxidation and finish loss to muzzle. Stock has wear, scratches and dents, no cracks. Shiny bore with strong rifling.
