Description
Copper and brass nautical maritime navigation instrument with two extra sighting tubes. Made by Spencer Barrett & Co (1830-1880) of London and housed in a period Keystone Case with the label of Samuel Thayer & Sons (1792-1916). Case has two hook closures with a lock and working key, bail handle on the lid. Stamped with the name R. E. Sawyer to the interior of the lid. Case approx. 10"L x 12"W x 5"H. This item can be shipped in-house.
Condition
Case showing wear typical for age and use with loss to a corner of the lid, staining and scaring, and one crack. Hole cut in the bottom of case, possibly to secure it to a surface. See images for more details on condition.
