Description
Attributed to Valentino Panciera Basarel, Venice, Italy 1829 - 1902. A student of Andrea Brustolon, trained at the Venetian Academy in the mid 1800’s Basarel went on to perfect his art and was known for his lively carving, often including putti with instruments. Walnut tea serving table, shaped top with conforming tray, apron in the form of a grape vine. Base is designed as branches or thick vines with two musician cherubs perched on the stretcher, each playing an instrument. Ornate Venetian carved 19th C table does not appear to be signed, given the workmanship and style of the table it can be attributed to Valentino Panciera. Overall approx 28"L x 16"W x 29"H. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. We maintain a list of reliable shippers, or you may choose your own.
Condition
Some repairs, mostly reglued pieces -- one wing on each cherub. Front left leg repaired (could be done better). One cherub has a chipped toe. Table top (under tray) has some scratches and wear. Overall in very nice condition, and with minimal work (and at least some competency at furniture restoration), it could be re-repaired to excellent condition.
