Assumed to be a member of The Improved Order of Red Men, rooted in Pre-Revolution America. This pre Colonial pro American Independence group including the Sons of Liberty and Sons of St. Tamia. Sons of Liberty dressed as Mohawk Indians carried out the Boston Tea Party. Around 1834 these groups combined and became the Improved Order of Red Men. As the oldest Fraternal Organization in the United States this group began by honoring the Iroquois values of fairness among its people and imitated the tribe by dressing in similar clothing and organizing their groups along the perceived societal structure of the Tribes.
